Hopefully that’s a statement of how good it was and not how bad the storm has been, haha

Re: Curiosity with WOW

Just in my limited walkthroughs of it before the tour this year, it seemed like a good way to both tie the neighborhood together for folks that didn't want to just go producer to producer. I know I don't mind that at all (nor do most of the Port nerds here), but I agree most people need some variety...

12 - 2003 Warre VP 8 - 2020 Warre Vinhas Velhas VP PA state stores were clearing them out at $38 and $58 respectively, couldn't say no! Every once in a while, there's a perk to the state stores :-). Nice haul, Brad. I believe you got the last of the 2020 Warre's Vinhas Velhas in the entire state. I...

TN: 1989 Porto Rocha Colheita

From 375ml, bottled 2012, perfect fill, clear and appropriate color Good nose of sultana, gingerbread, toasted walnuts. Palate is consistent, with some circus candied nuts spiced coating to the walnut character, and some lemon iced tea grip giving it good zippy balance. Good stuff in solid shape, do...

Re: Event: THAT'S NOT PORT - SAMMAMISH PORT CLUB

I've had a Barnard Griffin, when I was still trying non-Port Ports. It disappointed me. This thread reminded me I have a Terra d'Oro Zinfandel Port still lying around. Hopefully that will be better. If you ever have an urge to try another Bernard Griffin, they’re on clearance at the PA State shops....

Re: 2000 Sandeman VP re-released

Woof. There’s a LOT of Port out there that I think I’d rather have for less than $125. I’ve never been blown away by any of the Vau Vintage bottlings I’ve had though. Good, but nothing to send my socks flying. If they can sell it though, more power to them!

Re: Game Changer For New Producers

Don't they limit the total volume of Port that can be produced and bottled in a given vintage? Will this mean more producers fighting over the same size pie? That was my first thought as well, if the newcomers are planning on purchasing vineyards. I believe once it’s been made into Port and been re...

Re: 1995 Horizontal of VPs

Big props to John and Mike for hosting and logistics! It was a great tasting and I'm glad I got to meet a whole bunch of folks nearby who are into this stuff as much as I am. A few thoughts: - I remember buying (and quickly drinking) many '95s around 2010-2012, during they heyday of the "flash ...

Re: 1995 V.P. Tasting

I remember buying a lot of '95s back in 2010 on the flash sale sites for $20 or so a bottle and they were wonderful wines already in a pretty attractive window from '10-'15. Wish I'd had the space and money to buy more back then, those bottles have long since been consumed. Looking forward to trying...

Dating/ID for an old bottle

Hey all, when I was spending a day in Lisbon before flying out of Portugal last month, I perused a wine shop with a broad selection of bottles purchased from private owners. I picked up a few unique things, but this one in particular caught my eye, both for price and uniqueness. Cost me 29 Euros. Wh...

Just picked up a half bottle of this since the PA state stores have it on clearance, and I was intrigued with the fact it was made with Portuguese varieties. Hopefully it shows well!
