Re: The next FTLOP newsletter #87

Roy, hope I didn't really spill any beans, just trying to get some conversation going. I figure the more successful a Port buying opportunity is the more we will have in the future.

Re: The next FTLOP newsletter #87

There has been very little discussion about the new Port buying opportunity, is that intentional or are you all not that interested. I plan on getting a couple of cases.

Re: Lurkers on this Forum

I have been on here for a couple of years and I post occasionally. I really don't feel that I have that much interesting to add to the conversation or I would post more. A little of it may be intimidation because I don't own any rare or really expensive ports or Madeira. After all how many times can...

I live in middle Georgia, if I had to wait for port season to drink port I would never get to drink.

That is why Andy calls being a participant here, "A slippery slope". Good job for 3 years! [friends.gif]
Thanks Roy, looking forward to buying more with the next buying opportunity you recently mentioned.

Re: Is my cellar balanced?

Thanks for the recommendations guys, I will be 59 next month so I need to be buying port I can drink over the next 10 years. I see I am probably light on the older ports that will be drinking soon.

Re: Is my cellar balanced?

I can't get it to allow me to attach a pdf or xls file I took a picture. If you can't read this let me know and I will try something else. Scroll down, the top part of the picture is black.

Just noticed the Producer column didn't format correctly so just ignore that.

Is my cellar balanced?

I started buying port about 3 years ago, I don't have anything really expensive but I do have over 200 bottles now. Would anyone be interested in reviewing a summary of what I have and let me know if there are holes in my collection I should look at filling? When I say collection I do not mean to in...

Re: March Madness: The next Port Buying Op - details.

I got an email indicating my 2 cs will ship this week. However with the thanksgiving holiday coming fedex ground has indicated that to arrive before the holiday to the east coast it must ship by 11/17 which is not likely. This could mean that it could sit in a warehouse for days in Florida or arrive ...

Re: Me thinks he doth protest too much

If the price of 375ml was 1/2 half that of a 750ml plus a couple of bucks for the bottle I would agree, but that is not the case. The price of a 375ml is usually around 60 to 65% the cost of a 750ml. I have been on the forum for a couple of years but I still feel like newbee with poor discriminating...

But what about when it's sitting on a retailers shelf for 6 months or 3 years before you buy it?
I hope that is not the case but you are right.
