As China becomes richer…

As China becomes richer the Chinese will make more luxury products of their own, in keeping with Chinese taste and history. Yes, they will want some VP. But we might even want some of their best agricultural products.

please could the country and the state not be mandatory

Also, please could the country and the state not be mandatory. I want to put "New York and Sussex" in the "city" field, which makes the state and country fields rather awkward.

Two bottles, an auction and a wedding — not starring Hugh G.

Two of the bottles bought at that auction I served at my wedding. Very excellent indeed. If I could buy a seat at one of his tasting I would most definitely do so.

List of magnums

This post lists all the large-formats posted in this thread. (Feel free to check that I have coped correctly.) I'll edit this post as more people add reports of magnums seen, owned or drunk. Magnums Taylor: 1970, 1977, 1985, 1991 (QdV), 1992, 1997; Fonseca: 1970, 1977, 1992, 1997, 2003; Graham’s: 19...

'27 Bastardo

I opened a '27 Bastardo about a year ago. No notes were taken, but I recall (strongly) thinking that it needed more time. Leave it for your grandchildren — to celebrate the birth of one of their first grandchilden.

20 cases gets the trade price

If one wants three bottles of whatever, then talk to the agent.

If one wants twenty cases, one is trade.

Binnys? Pls let me know of sales of large bottles.

Binny's? Please let me (and probably others via the forum) know when there are sales of large bottles. I've never owned a double magnum.

Special Quinta 1950: strange that there is so little info

I asked about this in a another thread, being about to open a bottle bought in 2003. It seems strange that there is so little information about it.

Taylor Special Quinta 1950

Occasionally one sees mention of “Taylor Special Quinta 1950”. Please, what is this “Special Quinta”? Is it an early example of Taylor’s second name, from before the decision to brand that as Quinta De Vargellas?

In magnums I own Taylor 1985, Warre 1985, and Noval 1963.

great decision

A great decision to keep the marketplace open to all. Those seeking a bottle of X will now have the largest possible audience: great decision. Partners can post in the partners-only area anything that they want to be seen only by partners. If the posting partner wants it to have a wider audience, it...

www.portbuyerportseller.com

I would really like there to be a port market open to all. So that when I need a bottle of Blogg’s 19XY, as many as possible owners of that see that there is a purchaser. With the FTLOP marketplace about to de facto close (it will be visible to you, to me, and to a few dozen others, amounting to a s...

Souza's website

FTLOP lists port makers' websites, but oddly lists Porto Souza as www.europawines.com/wine_a.html. It isn't: that domain even says "THIS DOMAIN IS FOR SALE".

However, I can't persuade google to give me a better domain: perhaps just delete?
