Re: Lurkers on this Forum

..., the idea of scoring a port terrifies me. I can't tell how much i score a port because i have my own "score standart". At the start (about 7 years ago) i thought that the variability of scores (WA,WS, etc.) were too tiny. So i made my own standart. My scores are between 75 and 95 (my ...

Re: 1964 Taylor Single Harvest Port (Colheita) at RWC

Not too deep. It was good but i don't...

Re: Who are your 3 favorite producers of LBV?

Crasto - I still believe their LBVs are the best value of any port, in any category. Smith-Woodhouse - Love the fact they hold back LBVs and release them with a bit of age. Wonderful wines. Niepoort - I agree with John, tough to find but excellent LBVs. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalkz. U Last y...

Grappes destiny

I have search i and found nothing about the type of grappe that goes on port. I explain... I know that in the Vintage port that's the best grappes in the best years that go into it. The grappes that go for the LBV are less "qualitative" than the Vintage. But what decided what grappes go in...

Re: Lots of new faces ... please introduce yourself

Louis, [welcome.gif] to FTLOP and thank you for posting on New Year's Day. Your intro is great. Please know that many of us are big fans of LBV too . They deliver 3/4+ of the pleasure of a fine Vintage Port at about 1/3 the price. The QPR is fantastic and drinking LBV allows your young Vintage Port...

But i really start to love port since 2 years. Probably because of the 2011 vintage. The story of por...
