Re: What have you opened this week?
Blackett 20yo white, bottled in 2023 What did you think of it? I had it recently so curious on your experience. Sorry for completely overlooking your question, Andy. It was my first tasting of Blackets white 20 yo. I liked it a lot as a stand alone, but it is not as complex as the S. Leonardo 20 yo...

Re: Antonio Aguilar Tonico
The question is whether quinine was added or not. I presumed this as the label also reads 'TONICO'.
In the meantime I found on Vivino that Aguilar is a winehouse owned by the Symington Family Estates. Funny, as Google can't find any other connections between Aguilar and Symington.

Re: Antonio Aguilar Tonico
What are the words in red on the "banners" on either side of the shields at the top of the label? The word on the right looks like it might be "degustada"? Port with quinine added is called quinado and - as far as I know - was a 20th century invention, so 1877 seems too early. T...

Re: What have you opened this week?
Tasting dinner for my oldest son (41yo) and his five best friends. My goal was to give them a broad overview of Port varieties and to turn them into Port lovers for life. Croft Pink Port with prosecco as a welcome drink (I know, I know.... ). Niepoort LBV 2015 versus Niepoort Vintage 2000. Graham Vi...

Re: What Port(s) have you purchased this week?
That Warre's is wonderful, try one early on and leave the other four to try once a decade from there on. :) Ignore this advice completely, if you are 50 or above. :) But to better appreciate these 2020 VP's, take a few days tasting one while it is young and you will love to gauge its evolution in t...

40 Year Old Kopke Tawny Port. Finally obtained a bottle of the 2008 DR Colheita to write about. I've had it on tour once and possibly once at Glenn's home too. But I need fresh notes from a few days of observation and pleasurably tasting. Are you referring to DR’s WHITE colheita 2008? One of my aff...
