Re: Vintage rankings - 2017 awarded alpha status

I would say 1977 should be a lower grade. The odds are far more than not one will have an off bottle. Either corked or just not showing well due to the poor corks. With the exception of a couple I generally avoid almost all And 1993, a F-, really? Is that because only one company sold a 1993? Would...

Re: Douro Boys 15th Anniversary Auction

Where do the profits go? I looked at the catalogue and the Douro Boys website and could find no mention of this. I would expect if there was a charity involved, they would mention it. Maybe viewed as foolish but I managed to get 8 bottles in my suitcase with some strategic wrapping and got it back completely fine. Done this several times and never had a problem.

Re: Christmas is near--What are your Port Plans?

Although it's fairly young, I'm going for Augustos 2000 this year. Bit of a peculiar find for myself so thought it could be a nice 'something different'.

Quinta do Vesuvio 750ml £45 Quinta do Noval 2015 "on the QT" 750ml £37.50 Has anyone tried this "on the QT" version - how does it differ from the standard vintage (if at all)? I’ve not tried it but it is a totally different blend from the actual Noval VP. Think of it more as a N...

Hi all, I'm Zak, 25 year old physics researcher in the UK. Been into Port relatively casually for a few years, but really started getting into it the past year. Currently have a collection of different Ports including the quite probably dreadful '93 Quinta Das Liceras Vintage but has great sentimen...

Must admit I haven't looked to heavily into SQVPs - something I will start venturing into soon.

I really enjoy the Colheitas - guess I'm not British then?
