Re: which are the biggest quintas?

Thank you all for your help; yes, I misstated my question, these are the largest quintas in vineyards...If you have any further information or links to find them, thank you. (Sorry for my syntax, but I'm using a translator )

production?

Hello
can we find data concerning the quantities produced annually by the most important brands of port wine?
And, for a given production, can we know the percentage of the different categories (ruby, tawny, vintage, lbv, ....)?
Thanks

Re: About single quinta

Hey Fred, I'm not talking about the brand but about for example Chateau Lafite Rothschild which is a wine estate in the Médoc with 103 hectares of vines. You can't make Chateau Lafite Rothschild with grapes bought outside the 103 hectares delimited that's why I wanted to compare with a single quinta...

Summaries

I find summaries like John's ( lbv 2011, ruby reserva) very interesting and informative. Does anyone else have any in their drawers? Merci!

Re: About single quinta

Excuse me, I was absent. Thank you for your answers. We know that each parcel is evaluated according to a table of points for the attribution of the "Beneficio". Therefore, if a quinta buys parcels that do not have the required number of points to make Port, how does it work to make "...

Re: organic ports

here you have an article in French on the characteristics of organic wines. https://www.larvf.com/,vins-bio-agriculture-biologique-vins-naturels-environnement-pesticides,10339,4023890.asp I am translating some passages related to our discussion. Antoine Gerbelle, one of the best French wine tasters,...

Re: organic ports

Thank you Frederic, I didn't know you were in charge of the Quinta Quevedo. I tasted and enjoyed your wines at Vinexpo Paris 2020. Your answers make me think. I come back to a statement of Andy's "to make a Port that tastes exactly the same as one not made by organic means" with which I do...

Re: organic ports

Thank you to all those who responded to my message. Being neither a winemaker nor a chemist, I am a little confused by the way some messages have been presented (at least as far as I can tell from my translator). My intention was not to be for or against organic! There will always be defenders of go...

Re: organic ports

Thanks Glenn for your answer! However, in Europe, "organic wine" corresponds to very precise specifications (I know that certification is quite expensive). A lot of producers claim to 'do like organic' but in fact they continue to use products that are dangerous for them and for us consume...
