Re: Christmas is near--What are your Port Plans?
I am planning to open a bottle of Cockburn 1960 for Christmas Dinner at my in-laws.
Based on previous experience, three of those in attendance will enjoy a small glass and I will struggle through to take care of the remainder of the bottle

Re: Is this Fonseca (Guimaraens) 1947?
I have a book titled "Fonseca Porto" that was published by The Fladgate Partnership in 2012 that sets out the history of the company in great detail. This one, I presume: http://fonseca.pt/en/fonseca/buy-the-book/ That's the one - I didn't realise it was on sale on the net, I was given a ...

An interesting discrepancy. Try to pick up a copy of the book the next time you are in Oporto, it's an interesting read and goes into quite a bit of detail about the various people and firms involved.

Re: How many btls of Port do YOU open in a yr. from your cellar?
I have had a couple of lean years on the Port front for a variety of reasons. I do not keep count but reckon that in the past twelve months I will have opened around 20 bottles from my cellar, half of those being on my two trips to Portugal.

Re: NFL Conference Championships
I confess that I have not followed this season at all. I only became aware of it through Glenn's hysterical ranting on Facebook. Would now be a good time to nail my colours (yes, it has a "u") to the Seahawk mast? Oops. I just noticed that the Patriots are still in it [dash1.gif] Perhaps ...
