NV Andresen 20 Year Old White Port
On the drier side for what I enjoy in a white Port, but superbly balanced.

thick rubber/plastic capsules
Having opened one this past weekend on a 1970 Graham (not the one pictured), a thought occurred to me. Has anyone ever had a duff bottle that was sealed with one of those thick rubber/plastic capsules? I don't mean corked - the capsule can't protect you from that - but some other problem like premat...

Re: 1964 Dow's Reserve Port -- Colheita
It should still be enjoyable and drinkable. Like most Dow Ports, it is a very slightly drier style than other brands. Note that there are multiple bottlings of this Port. I have some that were bottled in 1989, so probably not much different than Andy's, but you'll want to check yours to be sure. The...

Re: Revisiting old posts you made on FTLOP
D. To Glenn "Dr. Tawny" Elliott, I remember the very early days of your Port tasting, not the first ... but early. And Madeira too. You swore Madeira was not your thing. But I kept "forcing you" to drink it. For years you claimed, "It is ok, but not my thing. I mean the swe...

I have been scouring the net for DR in the US to no avail, so I wasn't going to let this opportunity slip by. I would have bought more but the Mrs... I am curious though Roy, why no 40 y.o. Tawny or White? Or is that next year's buying op? :D Sadly, DR no longer makes a 40 Year Old Tawny Port. With...

Re: Richard Mayson on Graham's The Stone Terraces
Then there is TCA. How do you score those wines Glenn? ;-) Those are all good points. Ones that I recognize from judging barbecue, where we (at least theoretically) have a standard and a process by which to judge what the teams have produced for us. I'm not a professional wine judge, though. My &qu...

Re: Richard Mayson on Graham's The Stone Terraces
Glenn - Richard tasted the 2011 in 2023 when it had had the benefit of 10 years of bottle age. He rated it a perfect wine. What’s your view? Do you agree? I don't believe that I have ever given a Ruby Port a score of 100. I can think of 6 Tawny Ports off the top of my head, so it might be 7 or 8 in...
