Re: The prices....the prices

Maybe i should point him towards FTLOP

He says that the prices are official prices of the IVDP
I just hope he doesnt buy the wines in their shop, if so, someone should ask the IVDP why they have those insane prices.

Maybe something for the Port trade question this month ?

Re: 2009 New Year's Resolution: TNs?

Roy, to me, and sorry to say, the TN section is a bit of a mess. When i click it and i see 8-10 new TN's posted i dont even bother to look at them right away. I think there should be more structure in it. As i speak only for myself, im not really interested in reading LBV or a 10, 20 or 30 years old...

Re: The prices....the prices

Ok, the guy mailed me back saying that im not used to extraordinary ports asking questions like that....

Anyway, the prices are per bottle so this is a BIG no-no for me.

True, even lower. This morning i bought it at only € 36 ! With shipping from Germany its € 44
Even in the Netherlands the cheapest bottle according to Winesearcher is € 60

opening a link in a new window ?

Is it possible to open a url in a new window ? I know it is, but can it also be arranged that it will happen here ? Its kinda annoying to hit the back button and sometimes the scrolling is blocked, especially when viewing large amounts of text.

thanks in advance.

Special bottling

I found this bottle again, while taking pics of all different bottles i have. Tucked away in the back of my cabinet. http://gallerij.erikwiechers.com/#1.46 On the label it says: C.N. He claims he goes to Portugal 3-4 times a year to get those bottles. I only hope for him he does not pay those prices there.

The prices....the prices

Today i got this list from a guy not too far away from my home. I must admit, he has a nice collection, but oh boy....those prices. When i said something about those ridiculous high prices he got a little upset and said that i dont understand a bit from pricing. That maybe true, but even i can see t...

Re: Wine is to drink ... or is it to look at in a museum?

Somehow i can understand this man. He is afraid that some obscure entrepreneur with the money to buy it will waste it on his/her self-proclaimed wine lovers. It would be my nightmare also when a $ 1000 bottle is gulped down by some person followed afterwards by a big BUUUUURP. The horror, the horror...

hangover vs cheap port

I was wondering if those 2 are related ? Yesterday i drunk a bottle of cheap ruby port my friend bought in a supermarket. Although the port was not that bad i had a bit of a hangover this morning. Now we shared several bottles in the past together and those were my vintage ports. I never had any han...
