Both are now on-hand in excellent physical shape. We'll bring these up with us - I expect we'll drive up the day before, but we'll leave that till the last minute to decide - why start planning ahead at this late date? :)Carl D wrote:We'll bring Ramos Pinto and Ferreira Quinta do Seixo.

I know someone with offsite storage in CA that'd be happy to help you store those '07's if they're crowding up your fridges... just sayin' :)Glenn E. wrote:Of course I said similar things about the 2007 vintage, and CellarTracker tells me I have 33 bottles on hand.

A deliberate safety? Are you kidding me? What a sissy way to end the game. Too bad the 49ers didn't bother to show up for the 1st 1/2 - could have been a much different game!

Re: What have you opened this week?
Ramos Pinto Quinta do Bom Retiro 20 years old Tawny. We were in Southern California and drove to Hi-Time cellars in Costa Mesa from a conference in Cerritos to pick up a bottle which we enjoyed over the next 4 nights in our hotel room. Yummy. Gets better every day for at least two weeks, to my taste...

Worse than some who've replied, I have no 1983 at all - we'll definitely be looking for some suggestions on what to acquire & bring.

Ramos Pinto Quinta do Bom Retiro 20 years old Tawny. Tried with a bananas Foster trifle but the trifle was much too sweet, so we saved the wine to enjoy by itself afterwards. Even better the second day.

Hey! The author misspelled your name - twice! ...and got it right 2 or 3 times as well.
Fine choice of reserve rubies there, Roy! I'm pretty sure we've tasted and ranked all of those :)

Is the recent wave of releases of 19th century colheitas (Scion, Tributa, 5G, etc) a good thing for the Port industry in general? Do you think more producers will jump on that bandwagon?

I clung to the classic version for a while, but after getting used to it, I'm finding nice things in the new UI as well. The information density in the classic is hard to beat - but if you really want that density, download the spreadsheet that he has on the site and use that as your primary means o...

Re: What was your BEST Port purchase from last year?
I'd have to go with the 1992 SW LBV that we brought to the FTLOP anniversary event. It was so unexpectedly awesome - even next to the 92 Taylor, 92 Fonseca and 94 Taylor. Oh, and the BEST thing about this bottle is that it was free! It was mis-advertised as a VP by the seller and when we discovered...
