Re: What is your longest complete vertical?
At this point my longest vertical is of Taylor, from 1900 to 2007 (almost..I'm still looking for 1940 & 1942!) I also have a complete vertical of Grahams from 1955-2007, as well as a Warres vertical from 1958-2007.

Whew...I just checked my cellar software and it looks as though I'm okay. Although some of those bottles might of been resold through other channels in subsequent years...

It didn't come up on my home computer either. I tried a couple of different browsers, but to no avail.

It was fantastic! Silky smooth entry, nicely layered palate, fairly long finish...it did not disappoint! Unfortunately, I only have one more bottle left in the cellar....David Spriggs wrote:Wow! How as it???Marc J. wrote:1976 Niepoort Colheita

Re: Sophie's Choice: between two remarkable Port vintages
1994 is a very good vintage, but is still unproven in maturity. 1970 is proven, sound across almost all shippers, and plentiful in quantity. +1 At this point in time I'd have to pick 1970. I feel that 1994, after twenty years, has had some variable results. Across the board, 1970 is a solid vintage...

Re: Which producers don't get talked about much on FTLOP?
I'd say that Ferreira as well as Ramos-Pinto come to mind as larger producers that aren't really discussed much.

Re: the Great Divide
I'd say that probably 50% of the Port I drink falls somewhere between 85-90 points. The other 50% would represent the 90+ point wines. Of course there are some outliers, but I'd say that the vast majority lie within that range. More to the point, I do believe that 90+ scores have become much easier ...

Re: Aromatics in Port
I seem to be able to detect far more of the aromatic profile if I close my eyes. No question about it...I can discern quite a few more nuances if my eyes are shut. I wonder is someone has actually conducted a scientific investigation of this phenomenon...
