1991 Taylor Quinta de Vargellas Vintage Port

Post by Tom D. »

Taylor Vintage Port Vertical (Los Angeles, California): Deep, pure color. A little muted on the nose, but showing some blueberries and toast. Nice mouthfeel and balance, until the tannins and alcohol move forward aggressively through the finish. Despite the intrusive spirit, this might be a bottle worth giving a chance to come around in the cellar. 11 hours in decanter. (90 pts.)

I've had this a BUNCH over the years. Haven't written about it on all of the occasions, maybe half, but this is the real deal and a killer and young Vargellas.
