Decanted about 2 hours prior which was not enough....
Rich dense purple--high viscosity. Strong grape and floral nose. Taste is dominated by tannic grip--wish this was decanted earlier--lots of grape, touch of grass, dark berry--blue and boysenberry. A powerhouse through and through…lots of stuffing to go the distance. As the evening wore on it got softer and more approachable.

Re: 2011 Taylor Vintage Port
That touch of grass, which I describe the Taylor 2011 as green will definitively help the wine go the distance. 40 years ago, most of the VP had that green touch in their youth. I was really surprise to see this in young VP nowadays!

I really like the Taylor VP, ok, so not as much as the Vargellas Vinha Velha VP single quinta bottling, but the Taylor is quite solid.
It must have nearly been painful for John and friends to drink this with only 2 hours of decant time!
