1985 Warre vintage port

Post by Rune EG »

Decanted 7 hrs. Medium brownred colour. Deep aroma of old humid cellar, terroir, minerals, some wood, berries and figs. Medium body. Elegant, quite powerful, smooth, red berries and touch of citrus. Good tannins and well balanced. Long aftertaste. 94 pts.

I had the '85 Warre's a couple of years ago and found it very drinkable though still quite youthful. There was a backbone of tannins but they were relatively ripe. It drank very well though it appeared to have many years ahead of it.

I'm glad you had a few nice things out of this bunch of notes, and this from a name I enjoy. But I just checked my inventory and I have but one bottle of this. Thanks for the note and reminder.
