1995 Calem Quinta da Foz vintage port

Post by Rune EG »

Decanted 7 hrs. Dark redbrown colour. Slightly oxidized. Aroma of dark red berries and prunes. Full body. Taste is full of berries, a bit on the sweet side, raisins, caramel. Powerful tannins and towards the end showing alcohol. Long aftertaste. This vintage port is clearly “over the hill”. 84 pts.

Have you had this before? Just curious if this bottle was normal or just a bad bottle.

Yes, this was the last of three bottles purchased back in 2009.
I posted a tasting note December 2010 and gave it 87 pts at that time and now 84 pts.

Ok, thanks, good to know it's time to drink these up if you own them.
