1960 Quinta do Noval Vintage Port

Post by Eric Menchen »

Charles Kinloch & Co. Ltd bottling. Decanted 5 hours. Almost more tawny brown than red. It definitely has tawny oxidized aromas with some alcohol warmth, to include fig and dried apricot. There is also a little pepper spice, dried strawberry, and a hint of leather. In the mouth, a hit of sweetness is followed by the alcohol warmth that carries through the finish. It is slightly medicinal, but cherry fruity too. The alcohol is blowing off a bit in the glass, but it is still warm in the finish. 93 points.

Nice note. I've found most 1960 VP's are starting to turn as they are slowly on the downhill slide.
