2000 Fonseca vintage port

Post by Monique Heinemans. »

Had this with some friends to go with some nice cheese (Mont d'Or, Epoisses, Morbier) and nuts/fig bread. Didn't take proper notes, but everybody loved this one.
24 hours decant. The cork had only some mm saturation. Nice dark colour (between red and purple) and a bit cloudy.
Some impressions: Lovely fruit, complex, well integrated alcohol, fullbodied, smooth, velvety, long aftertaste. Very nice VP!

One of my 2 favorite Ports of the vintage. The other, which I have preferred in side-by-side tastings is the Niepoort.
Ambition driven by passion, rather than money, is as strong an elixir as is Port. http://www.fortheloveofport.com
