Found this bottle leaking in the cellar, so it needed opening! We had scorching hot 35C days last week, and I think the old cork just couldn't cope. Decanted at 11am, tasted 7pm.
I had no idea what to expect from this, as there are very few tasting notes to be found. Even Roy doesn't have a tasting note on it. The colour is still quite red, with just a hint of tawniness. The nose is lifted and spirity. The taste surprised me - it was very, very good. Still beautifully sweet and well-rounded, luscious mouthfeel, with a good but not overpowering spirit, and a clean, long finish. Hints of liquorice and sweet raisins. In brilliant condition, better with a few hours breathing time, but also opened very well. Happy days! :)
