1964 Pocas Colheita
bottled in 2008
Color: Dark tawny/brown, almost leathery
Nose: Butterscotch, nuts, very faint vinegar, some spirit, and some meyer lemon.
Palate: Tart. Great acidity. Buttery. Dark but very bold tart apricots. An echo of vanilla as you swallow. Dryish finish, possibly due to the acidity.
Score: 93 points. I toyed with giving it another point but ultimately felt that the Porto Rocha 150th Anniversary Tawny was slightly better. This is an excellent Port, though, and has been an outstanding value for the money we paid when they were first released.
