2008 Taylor Fladgate Quinta de Vargellas Vintage Port

Post by Andy Velebil »

Picked up a few of these in the past year when I found them up in Seattle for a song. Finally got around to opening one to give it a go. Decanted about 4 hours at time of this note, would have liked to have longer but it didn't last that long. Well balanced black fruit, moderate tannins, spearmint, and acidity. Soft textured with no protruding heat. A very approachable SQVP at this stage of its life. A moderate and consistent finish rounds out a SQVP that should develop nicely over the next 12-18 years.

Good to know---I have several of these in 375s. Resisting drinking them.

Might be worth trying one to see if they're maturing substantially faster, as 375s tend to.
