Offley 20 Year Old Tawny Port

Post by Andy Velebil »

Bottled in 2014. At first I thought this was corked as the nose was musty, though the palate showed no signs of TCA. Then I realized it wasn't corked but was more yeasty-lees, like from a barrel that wasn't cleaned properly. It did blow off slightly as time went on, but never totally went away. Very one dimentional, lacking both grip and complexity. If I was told this was 10 year tawny I would have believed it as this bottle had far more similarities to that than a 20 year tawny. A clipped finish didn't help. I hope this is an off bottle.
