1994 Fonseca vintage port

Post by Jasper A. »

Decanted for about 5 hours. Surprisingly dark blue still, no brown rim.
On the nose strong red fruit like strawberry and raspberry.
In the mouth a little disappointing. It just didn’t give its full potential, still closed. The port was very soft, kind of silky. The flavors were there but not exploding.
I guess keep in your cellar at least another decade.
92/100

It suprised me, because we had a Graham's 2000 vintage port a few days ago and that one wasn't closed anymore.

I've found a number of the top 1994's have been closed in recent years. This is normally a rock star so I'd give it more time to come back round.
