Niepoort 20 Year Old Tawny Port
Tasted blind. Sweet and fruity caramel aroma, still with some red fruit character. Asked what it was before I had tasted, I said based on aroma alone I thought it was a 20 year old tawny. But I hedged and commented that the faded appearance suggested it could be older. Tasted, it showed lots of acid along with brown sugar. This was really quite tasty. It was revealed to be a 20 year old Niepoort tawny, bottled in 1983! What fun, and I'll take as strong proof you can age a Niepoort tawny and still have a tasty Port many years later.

And my very geeky tech friends might appreciate that we've reached the 2^15 topic mark with this posting. Good thing this board isn't running on a 16-bit computer.
