1985 Dow Vintage Port
Capsule was slightly oxidized and there appeared to be past minor seepage on a cork that was less than 15% saturated and had heavy sediment. It removed in one piece. Upon decant it appeared "advanced" more tawny than what I was expecting. We had a glass after 4 hours and the level of VA was beyond what I could tolerate. The finish was finished and oxidized. Not a happy Thanksgiving showing. N/R

That is a bummer. While this is slowly getting near maturity it should not have VA or be oxidized. Bad bottle for sure.

I hope so, as I have 7 more , I'll most likely open another sooner rather than later. While it was a bummer, it wasn't the only wine of the evening so things were not spoiled in the least.Andy Velebil wrote:That is a bummer. One of Dow's drier vintages and normally one of the best of the vintage.
