NV S. Leonardo 20 years tawny port

Post by Rune EG »

This tasting note is based on consuming two bottles with one month apart. One was decanted for abt 1.5 hrs, and the other decanted for abt 4 hrs. The result was quite similar, so it re-confirm my view that for tawnies of this age abt 1.5 hrs is normally enough decanting time.

Bottled 2015. Decanted 1.5 hrs and 4 hrs. Dark brown colour. One of the darkest 20 years old tawnies that I have seen. Deep aroma of wood, oak, minerals and also orange. Full body. Smooth and powerful at start with a slight bitter touch in the middle part and towards the end. Round and really full body. Nice balance acidity/sweetness. Very long aftertaste. 93 pts.
