1983 Ramos Pinto vintage port

Post by Rune EG »

Purchased 12 bottles December 2010 and have since then consumed 1-2 bottles per year. With the exception of one bottle (88 pts), the others have been 90-93 pts. The other night we had the 8th bottles, and that one was a step up. Did not need as long decanting time as the others. Gave it 94 pts, and considered actually one more point.

Decanted 5.5 hrs. Dark red colour with a light rim. Aroma of dark red ripe fruit, oak and raisins. Full body. Powerful (all the way to the end), elegant, fresh style, fruity, some raisins, perfect acidity, nice tannins. Not too sweet like some VPs of that age can be. Long aftertaste. 94 pts.

One of my top 3 of the year. I've enjoyed all the bottles I've had. Glad yours showed really well!
