Bottled by the Norwegian State Wine Monopoly. I am not sure, but think 1970 was the last year of bottling port wine in Norway. Tested this bottle at 2 hrs, 3.5 hrs and 5 hrs, and conclusion is that I will decant the other two bottles purchased at the same auction for abt 3 hrs.
Decanting 3 hrs. No leakage, but the cork was about to fall apart when opening.
Colour was light redbrown, more red than brown. Pleasant, interesting aroma of flowers, spices, cherry and other red berries and a hint of alcohol.
Medium body. Silky taste with elements of wood, minerals, herbs, some berries, tiny bit alcohol, slightly tart towards the end. Medium length aftertaste. 89 pts.
