Popped and poured, color with a surprising amount of red, as you might expect from a ~25y/o mid level VP. Definitely more red than brown to this.
Brown sugar, strawberries, and high quality cake donuts on the nose. The palate has a lot in common with a meh mature VP, minus the remaining tannin. Bits of strawberry, with some bland almonds and warm brown sugar for a slightly firey close.
Maybe I just don't "get" this wine, but honestly I'd prefer a lot of 10 y/o tawnies, which are usually the same price.
