1986 Porto Rocha Colheita

Post by Bradley Bogdan »

Bottled 2006, pop and pour.

Vaguely cloudy, but correct 20y in barrel color.

Nose of caramel, dulce de leche, cashews and hints of clove and over ripe lemon.

Over ripe lemon and dulce de leche on entry, light citrusy middle and a slightly nutty, warm cut citrus as if it was left out overnight and you didn't find it until late the next morning in the sun. Somehow that sounds worse than it is, but I find it a very accurate descriptor.

I do think that this would have tasted better 5-6 years ago, but it's still a very enjoyable beverage at the FTLOP op price. Plus, always fun to drink things older than yourself.
