I've had this for some years and thought on the eve of its 20th anniversary would be a good time to check in and see how it was doing. Never had this one and I can't recall ever having a Quinta da Foz VP before. The color is just showing some bricking, but mostly a deep purple still. Licorice and dried rose pedal nose. The palate is a combination of some secondary notes of tobacco leaf, eucalyptus and more primary notes of dried plums. The tannins are mostly resolved but a little show up late on the moderately long finish. Overall this was pretty a nice bottle for what was a very tough vintage. It seems to be at a good point right now and I don't see it getting any better from here based on this one bottle. But it should hold here for at least another 5-8 years without issue.
