1957 Krohn Vintage port

Post by Jasper A. »

Before tasting this bottle i had my doubts about this port, the bottle also started leaking recently.
At decant, lots of alcohol and more concerns

After 3-hours the port was wonderful. The colour was bright red, barely any age indication. On the nose lots of red fruit, strawberry & raspberry. In the mouth I tasted cherry chocolate, brier and a little peppery finish. I had a medium aftertaste.
Surprisingly wonderful

I don't think I own any of that Port and will look in my cellar. If not, when in PT next, I will seek one out!

I know a shop in Porto that has a handful of bottles. Will have to score them before they disappear as they will never be bottled again, as we all know.
