NV Maynard's 40 Year Old Tawny Port

Post by Mike K. »

Bottled 2016

Nose: Molasses, brown sugar, orange peel, vanilla, overripe plum, a hint of alcohol

Taste: Thick and mouth coating, rich flavors of raisin and fig, grape jam. Very sweet, slightly out of balance, could use more acidity. Thins out faster towards the finish than a similar aged Sandeman or Grahams tawny.

Finish: Long, slightly sweet, figs

A rich and powerful tawny, pleasing and easy to drink. Bolder, but not as nuanced and balanced as a Sandeman's, Graham's, etc..
A fantastic value at $63.
