2007 Graham's Vintage Port

Post by John M. »

Tasted 3/26/2010. Decanted 24 hours. Very dense garnet and purple color--just going into the glass you knew it was going to be great. Nose of deep cassis and blackberry-a gorgeous bouquet (I kept resmelling numerous times before I tasted). Deep, rich taste offering the cassis and blackberry flavors-wonderfully complex overtones; well balanced and long on the finish. Overall excellent.

This port was blind tasted along with the following 2007 VPs with the following scores on a 20 point scale:

Dow’s 2007 VP 17 points
Burmester 2007 VP 15 points
Graham’s 2007 VP 18 points (96 Points)

The Dow and Graham are an excellent comparison of similar, excellent ports of the same vintage. Out of 10 port friends 4 preferred Graham’s, 2 Dow’s, 4 were equivalent. Only 1 had Burmester anything but 3rd in this line-up—but it was well received nonetheless.

96 Points

In your notes you've scored Graham's with 18 points, but in your official overall score (that gets counted in the members average), it's listed as only having 15 points (which is what you scored for the Burmeister). Did you get them mixed up?
