Christmas Hits Sammamish

Post by Roy Hersh »

Just about the same time I began the For The Love Of Port enewsletter back in Feb. 2004, I bought myself a new computer. It was state-of-the-art back then and was a major step up as it was a laptop vs. my old desk top PC.

Just about four years later, it was time to dig deep and buy a new one. Today, I bought a new laptop and although I am not a big fan of MSFT Vista, but I'll reserve judgement until I get the hang of this new OS. With as much time as I spend on the computer, it was certainly time and when my wife prompted me saying "it is time" I knew it really was.

Although abandoning my old, heavy and clunky computer is nostalgic ... I think it will take about until tomorrow to get over it. You know your computer has been well used when the letters on a half dozen frequently used keys have been worn away over time. Now if only I can figure how to increase the font size in everything I type ... I will save my eyesight and not go blind by the time I reach 60.

I am done venting, now it is time to go have a glass of Port!
