Borlido Reserva Extra | Aguardiente

I picked up a bottle of Borlido Reserva Extra yesterday. It's an aguardiente that is 30 years old. Everything is in portuguese and I am assuming it's 30 years aged from what I can decipher.

Is anyone familiar with this stuff? Awesome wooden case and first class bottle and stopper. Compared to Congac, this is a deal and a half.

It's Barrel aged for 30 Years.
It's an OK Aguardente. It was made from bairrada wine.

OK, thanks for the info.

It is imported from someone near my town, and the local liquor store sells it for $55.00 USD; so for something 30 years old- that is not bad.

We have tons of Aguardente on the low end, but not much fancy stuff.

What do you consider to be the best aged Aguardente made?

The best ones i tasted so far were

Relíquia Reserva Especial
IVV Aguardente (is made from IVV wich is were i work)

But there will be more....

There are 2 kind of Aguardentes. The ones that are good just because they are old and the ones that were made from wine wich all the process had only one purpose, make Aguardente. The best ones come from the 2nd type.

Wouldn't an old version of IVV would be best of both worlds?

Do you know if either are imported to USA?

Nahhh

Almost isn't here in Portugal. These can only be purchased by us, employees.
Come to Portugal and i'll be happy to buy one for you. :)

Some stores like Garrafeira Nacional have it for sale but they are way too expensive (like 130€ or more). As for me i can buy it for 25€.
