Year End Target

Post by Derek T. »

OK folks - as of tonight we have had 9543 posts and 456 registrations - this seems like a good place to be to set a target of 10,000 posts and 500 registrations by the end of 2006:

Registered Users (and especially lurkers) - please get posting

Guests/browsers - please sign up and help us reach the 500 target 8)

The 500 target (legit members) may be the tougher challenge. I may be more ambitious in my prognostication and think that we'll hit 11,000 posts as the average/month is over 600 posts. This might be the first month ever that we don't reach that number, but for 1/3 of the month ... 10 regular posters were gone. Surprisingly, some of the Harvest Tour guys have barely come back to post. Maybe they are still hung over?

If everyone would just tell one person about us, things would really flourish.

Thanks for your efforts Derek!

Its amazing to see we are now at almost 550 members. There seems to have been a large increase in the past few weeks. I love it :D Hopefully those new members will chime in with their thoughts and tasting notes.

In the past two weeks, we have added 60 new members, who have registered with their real names and locations. This is a good thing.

But don't confuse these numbers!

A new registered FTLOP guest is now signed up for BOTH the newsletter AND Forum simultaneously. In the past, the systems were seperate. A person signed up for the newsletter separately and then again on the Forum itself. This was time consuming and a PITA, so we made "one size fit all." However, it does skew the number of members who are really ONLY interested in the newsletter but appear on the count for the Forum. I hope this is clear and not looked at as us trying to be deceptive. We did not see any other alternative that made more sense.

The last 60 entries on the memberlist page show only 6 who have posted on the Forum - which I think demonstrates Roy's point. However, I find it hard to believe that the other 54 are only interested in the newsletter - come on guys, give us some of your thoughts or ask some questions. There is absolutely nothing to be afraid of on this forum 8)

I will make a concerted effort to email the entire group of aforementioned newbies and do all but beg them to visit and post here.
