Now you see it, now you don't

Stewart,

I have noticed today that my avatar seems to be disappearing and re-appearing randomly across various threads on the site. Are you "fixing" something that would cause this or do we have a new problem?

Andy V & Alan C's appear to be having the same problem. I have noticed that anyone who hasn't posted today seem to be fine.

Please help before we all forget who we are

Derek,

I have that very same problem, as I have no idea where my avatar is.

Unfortunately both Stewart and I are out of state right now. He'll be back on Monday and should see this or you can PM him.

I'm in Washington DC to host a Madeira tasting for folks from across the USA. I then am spending some quality time with the Mrs. and Taylor in Florida, leading up to the insane weekend of Port and other wine debauchery. I'll be back on 3/20 and will probably have no web access starting Monday until the following Friday. I am sure you'll all do fine without my presence.

Ok Andy -

Get down off the chandelier.

I'm not sure why we're having avatar issues, but I'll look into it.

Hi Stewart,

Where have you been!!!!! - How are we supposed to cope without knowing who we are? Many of us here have now mind-melded with FTLOP and have no personal life to speak of. Our only grip on reality is to see a picture of what we used to look like before joining The Collective.

Come on man, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few, or the one.

Get back on that keyboard and sort us out

Derek

PS: Hope you had a nice time :D

I just read the thread about why you went to Philly - in the words of Colonell Nathan R Jessop in A Few Good Men "Don't I feel like the f***in' asshole!"

Derek

Well done Stewart - great story - but I have to agree with Alan, you should have stood about 6 feet to the left

Derek - that's what the delete button on your posted messages is for. When you feel a real pratt, hit delete and hope no-one noticed.

Not that I've ever had to do that, of course. And any rumours to the contrary are entirely without foundation.

The one that appears at the top right corner of your message until someone has posted a reply. Next to the edit. The little cross in a box.

Just an update - I've confirmed that a recent synch is responsible for our disappearing avatars, and am working to correct the problem.

Glad to hear you are working on a fix, Stewart, but I have no idea what a "recent synch" is :?

Derek,
let the man work. The Port world has had to do without my outstandingly good looks for a week or so now.
And theres a rumour your dinghy has sunk while its been off-air, coz of the money belts of the passengers. (like the Offley man) :)

Alan,

Just because you and Andy only work 3 hours a week (including donuts and visiting the Chief's wife when he's on duty) there is no need to give Stewart an easy life. He has neglected us for long enough now and it's about time he got back to work

What is man, when you come to think upon him, but a minutely set, ingenious machine for turning, with infinite artfulness, the joy that is Port into urine?
