Nuisance fix

Post by Guest »

Don't remember who asked me to fix this, but....

When you did a numbered list like this:

1)
2)
3)
4)
5)
6)
7)...

You always got this emoticon 8--) when you were trying to get: 8).

This is because the keystroke for that emoticon USED to be the text "8)". Don't ask me why. I didn't set that variable. However, I've fixed it now so that you can get a proper 8), and the "cool" emoticon is now "8 - - )" without the quotes or the spaces.

Thanks Stewart - it was indeed an occasional irritation!

On another matter - for most of today I've been unable to use the site, and judging by the small number of posts, I think I'm probably not alone.

The forum page was telling me to log in to check my pm's, but the home page was giving me the logged in welcome message. Attempts to make a post routed me to the home page, which also reloaded itself when I hit the back button..

I've now cracked the problem by logging out and then back in again - I think...

..maybe others need to be told that they are still welcome here..!

Stewart,

As Tom has experienced exactly the same login/logout issue that I have I think this lends weight to my question about the solution your proposed. This is obviously an FTLOP problem, not a problem with the client machines that are accessing the site.
