I've read several different articles that refer to mixing white port with tonic for a refreshing drink. What I have not been able to find is what are the ratios of white port to tonic? Similar to gin and tonic? 50/50?

Yes, Luke. 50%/50% works best and also include a mint leaf which is really a nice touch and adds good flavor too.

Luke,
Great to have you finally join us on the forum and I do hope to read more posts from you. You ask a good question as summer is upon us (well some of us depending on where you live) and Port and tonic is a very refreshing drink. Here is a link to an article I wrote for the site. I'm sure others will chime in with how they like to mix it, but it will get you started.

p.s. i moved this to the Port Basics forum, it really belongs here and will get more views. Again, thanks for coming out of the shadows to join us

Re: Tonic and Port
The official mix ratio seems to be 1/3 white port 2/3 tonic, but I like it better around 50/50.

My preference is 0% White Port, 60% Tonic and 40% Gin :twisted:Ronald Wortel wrote:The official mix ratio seems to be 1/3 white port 2/3 tonic, but I like it better around 50/50.
