TN: 2007 Broadbent Douro

Post by Roy Hersh »

I had a bottle of 2007 Broadbent Douro red and must say, both my wife and I were pleasantly surprised how good it was. Vinified by Niepoort, it made more sense and from such a fine vintage. Quality juice!

I'll admit I didn't realize he had a Douro wine. Is this a new release of did I somehow miss it when it came out some time ago (if that was the case)?

(edit- also edited your title so it shows up in searches more easily.)

This was the very first vintage of this wine and has never been commercially released, although I suggested to Mr. Broadbent recently that he needs to do just that. Solid wine, but the pricing is equal to Crasto's Old Vines Reserva which might be a stretch.
