TN: 2007 Quinta da Pedra Alta Touriga Nacional Douro red

Post by Rune EG »

Decanted 5.5 hrs. Dark red colour with a purple touch. Deep, deep aroma of oak and berries. Full body. Smooth taste at the start, then quite powerful and then “disappearing” towards the end. A lot of acid. Short aftertaste. This Douro red is moving the wrong way falling from 90 pts, and is clearly showing signs of being above the top. Now 87 pts.

100% TN wines are hard to "get right." Of those I've had only a small amount seem to have the stuffing to make old bones and when young are either really good or not good. There doesn't seem to be much in-between ranking, at least for me. Guess it's time to drink these up if you have them.
