It can be one standout or the handful that have blown you away. But please do share which you have enjoyed most since last New Years.

Like my favorite Port this year, this was also a year which saw a good consumption of some high end Douro's as well.

Here are some of my favorites this year.

2010 Niepoort Coche (branco)
2004 Niepoort Robustus
2004 Barca Velha
2005 CV
1995 and 2004 Crasto Touriga Nacional
1978 Barca Velha

Come on folks, don't be shy ... we know you drink Douro and other Portuguese wines too.

I only buy up to mid price range, but, and early days yet, amongst recent purchases I like 2011 Charamba Reserva and 2010 Kopke. From Lisbon 2011 Capote Velho Premium despite it having some Alicante Bouschet (the grape that makes me not care much for Alentejo wines) in the blend. I have an unusually high percentage of Capote wines cellared. I must like them.

Without going to the cellar to see what else I have put away earlier in the year, I offer only these three at present.

Don't know how that got posted by the wrong handle, but it did somehow. Anyway, it was me who posted.

The 2005 Quinta do Vale Meao is the best Douro/portuguese wine tasted during 2013.
Have had three bottles, and they all show the same.
A little step up from the 2007 Vale Meao which is also extremely good.

The 2007 Chryseia surprised me (after having been sceptical based on the previous Chryseia-vintages), and I am now the proud owner of a case of 2007 Chryseia, which I look forward to consume spread over the some years.
