TN: 2012 Kopke Branco Reserva Douro

Post by David Spriggs »

Medium / light straw color. The nose is a lemon cream with maybe just a touch of earth in the background. In the mouth the flavor hits you immediately, lemon and seashell. Reminiscent of oysters. Very round mouth feel. Then the acid kicks in. It turns more to lime and almost a saline character on the med+ finish. Juicy! Very fine and delineated with no rough edges and no"spoofiness". Just all around great wine. 92 points

I have had a few Kopke reds and whites from 2008 vintage onwards in the last few months and enjoyed them all. I think they will all improve in cellar.

Agreed. This one was quite young and improved over several days.
