TN: 2012 Quinta do Crasto Reserva Old Vines Douro red

Post by Rune EG »

2 hrs decanting. Dark red colour with light rim. Pleasant subdued aroma of berries, oak and minerals = typical Crasto Reserva aroma. Medium to full body. A bit tannic at start, relatively powerful and also a little bit smooth. First impression of this bottle is that it is not as “big” as the recent vintages. Maybe slightly "thinner" than normal at middle part. Medium length aftertaste. 91 pts.

A nice wine but the not so great vintage shows in this. Though any vintage would be hard to follow the excellent 2011.
