Bought in Gaia on the recommendation of a trustworthy source. The color is still very youthful and not showing any signs of advanced age for a Douro wine. For a short bit this had a rubbing alcohol nose, which blew off leaving candied cherries and leather. The palate shows just a touch of age with the leather and light barnyard notes, which are overlaid with cherries and moderate tannins. A moderately long finish brought out a little noticable alcohol and some dusty tannins. Given the vintage, this shows more modern and youthful than most Douro wines from this time period. Still holding up well and could stand up to more cellar time.
