TN: 2009 Ramos Pinto Duas Quintas Reserva Douro red

Post by Rune EG »

Tasting note based on combination of two bottles.
Decanted 1.5 hrs. Dark red colour. Aroma full of berries and minerals. Full body. Very elegant and also powerful at the same time. Taste with the usual Douro-mix of berries, oak and minerals (lime), and also plenty tannins. Quite tough Douro red. Long aftertaste. Very nice. 93 pts.

I don't understand why these don't get more press/traction? I've generally been very happy with the vintages of these I've had in the past. And they tend to age quite well too.
