TN: 2012 Roquette e Cazes Xisto Douro red
Purchased at the quinta September 2015. Decanted 3 hrs. This is the top level red wine of the two products in the cooperation between Roquette family and Cazes family (Lynch Bages). Deep dark red colour. Lovely aroma of fruit, oak, terroir and leather. Full body. Smooth, powerful, complex, fruit, minerals, nice dry tannins. Slightly more acidity than the “little brother” of the two 2012 Roquette & Cazes Douro reds. Touch of strawberry in the aftertaste. Medium long aftertaste. 94 pts.

Re: TN: 2012 Quinta do Crasto Roquette e Cazes Xisto Douro red
I have generally not been a fan of these in the past so your positive notes are encouraging me to give them a go again. If you've had past vintages do you think they've changed up the winemaking on them?

Hi Andy!
Sorry for being late in responding.
I have had a couple of the 2005 Xisto which I gave 91 pts.
2010 FTLOP Harvest Tour we tasted the 2006 Xisto and I gave it 90 pts.
2014 FTLOP Harvest Tour we tasted the 2009 Xisto and I gave it 92 pts.
Recently the tasting note of 2012 Xisto was posted, and I gave it 94 pts.
So there is finally a good positive development.
