TN: 2012 Roquette & Cazes Douro red

Purchased at the quinta September 2015. Decanted 2.5 hrs. This is the “basic” red wine of the two products in the cooperation between Roquette family and Cazes family (Lynch Bages). Deep purple red colour. Typical Douro aroma full of fruit, oak and minerals and some dried tobacco. Medium body. Powerful and elegant at start, oak quite noticeable, minerals, tobacco, well-structured. Fresh, friendly wine. Medium to long aftertaste with a tiny bit sweet (strawberry) undertone. Good balance acidity/sweetness. 91 pts.
