Dinner at LBV restaurant, Pinhao.
Limited decanting (0.5 - 1.0 hr). Dark red with a light rim. Heavy Douro aroma of oak, berries and minerals. Eventually the fruit became more apparent, and leather came forward. Full body. At the start the taste was very much power, dominated by dryness and strong tannins. As the decanting continued during the meal the wine opened up, the wine can be described as powerful / elegant / quite smooth. Still som nice elements of terroir. A lot of fruit and tannins in a nice harmony. Medium to long aftertaste. 93 pts.

Give this 6-8 hours in the decanter and it's even better. Love this one.
